Elmer G. Ross, a Seventh-day Adventist minister, was president of the Nicaragua Mission of Seventh-day Adventists when he first became acquainted with Hope Noble. His nearly forty years of service to the church officially ended when he retired in 1980, but he continued to be involved in religious activity until shortly before his death in 2001.

Delmer G. Ross, who edited his father’s account of Hope Noble’s lay preaching career, is a professor of history at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. He is the author of five books, four of which deal with the history of Central America.
