Abstract:
Hope . . . Not Ashamed is the inspiring story of Hope Noble, an unlikely yet amazingly successful Seventh-day Adventist lay preacher in Central America. A contemporary described Noble as someone who “speaks well neither English nor Spanish – but his eloquence is absolutely compelling. He is far from handsome – yet there is an attraction about him that is most unusual. He is entirely unlovely – but he has loved more souls into God’s kingdom than any other man I know.” The narrative begins with Noble’s rebellion against God following a nearly fatal stabbing, examines his protracted conversion experience, and concludes with his enthusiastic and sometimes dangerous work as an evangelist.
