Jim is a native of Illinois who relocated to West Virginia after serving four years in the Navy and receiving a four-year college degree. He and his family lived in the Mountain State for 12 years. Jim was a manufacturing engineer with a penchant for fishing before moving to Texas. He was a long-time contributing editor for Muskies, Inc. magazine, focusing his articles on river fishing for muskellunge. He has also written articles for Fishing Facts magazine and the Charleston (WV) Gazette newspaper. He is married and retired.
