L.J. McGowan grew up in an Irish American family on Long Island, New York and is the youngest of nine children. She has traveled extensively throughout Ireland and Great Britain, including living abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her first trip to Ireland started her love of reading and learning more about Irish and Celtic traditions, history, and folklores. L.J. McGowan currently resides on Long Island, New York.
