Born in Dakota, David Youmans was raised and educated in Idaho, with further studies in Arizona and South Africa where he received his doctorate at the University of the Free State. His work life included foreign trade and voluntary agency duties overseas prior to nearly three decades as an academic, a journey embracing five continents. Now emeritus and member of a cross-cultural family, he travels and writes.
