The author was born in the city of Chicago on 3-1-1960. After enduring years of abuse at the hands of his mother, at the age of 13 he left home and lived in the streets until he was incarcerated at the age of 14, for purse snatching, armed robbery, burglary, and other petty crimes.

After serving more than 4 years in adult and juvenile correctional facilities, he was released and turned his life around by putting into play all of the positive things he was taught by many inmates who will never walk the streets again.
