Both poetic memoir and travelogue, this delightfully erotic and humorous poetry collection captures in sensuous detail the passion and exuberance of sex between women, the endurance of desire, and the stunningly luminous landscape of Greece—suggestive of the beauty of a woman’s body. Written by a poet of imaginative and witty intelligence, themes include Jewish immigrant family life during WW II, Boston’s lesbian sexual scene across three tumultuous decades, and a lesbian version of an Australian Aborigine creation legend. The collection concludes with two powerful poetic narratives: voices of archaic women calling out to those returning to a mythic land.
