Abstract:
This book takes a threefold approach to the education of deaf students in the college classroom. First, for instructors, it offers guidance on teaching deaf students who use the services of a sign language interpreter. Second, for the students in the classroom, both hearing and deaf, helpful considerations for enhancing communication are provided. The third emphasis shares insight with interpreters themselves who are given clear, and perhaps new, suggestions as to their roles. Let There Be Light PLEASE! offers an informal, sometimes-funny-sometimes-touching anecdotal and practical look at the life of one sign language interpreter who has the stories to tell.
