Abstract:
A seventh-grader from St. Gabriel’s Academy for Boys finds help with his basketball game from an unusual source – an elderly nun named Sister Mary Clara. The religion teacher with the Hollywood-celebrity impersonations has her students rolling in the aisles. But she also manages to inspire them, with a little help from the parish Priest, to return to the Sacrament of Penance in the same week that they prepare for the league’s championship game. Sister Clara’s hospitalization, and a classic “David versus Goliath” match-up for the league title, provides a suspenseful ending to this heart-warming and humorous tale.
