I want to share with you the secrets that I have learned while sitting as quite as a mouse photographing the bears no more than 10 to 20 feet away. I do not recommend doing this UNLESS you are in a protected environment like a house looking out the window or in a well-protected blind. It has taken me many years as a naturalist to understand animal talk. I still have not mastered the language. It is a fascinating pass time to listen and watch animals communicate with each other. Please also understand that these are animals and not people in fur coats they will bite. They do not reason like you or I. Yes, they play, are curious, and fight with their siblings just as we do, and they have the deepest respect for their mother. HOWEVER, THEY are always hungry and eating seems to be a life goal!

Happy was having such a great time with Ducky, it caught Big Brothers interest and he came over to the hot tub.


I am not sure exactly what was said but….

If Big brother really wanted Ducky, he could have it!
On the other side of the hot tub, Happy darted out of the water and took a nap on the grass.

For the record, I still have that rubber duck and fished a few more out of the woods just the other day. The bears are in the habit of taking ducky for a walk in the woods. I don’t ask why I just find them and bring them back to the hot tub. Funny thing is they have yet to destroy ducky like they do the other toys I give them.
