Do you realize that there are many invitations extended to us in the Bible? The invitation that I am speaking of is to try the Lord because he is good. He is good. He blesses those who will trust him. When we have troubled hearts we are welcome by God. Sometimes we cannot go to family members or friends. Lets face it sometimes they have problems of their own. There are times they just do not want to be bothered with us. Why, we all have our moments of not today, I just do not need to hear anyone elses problems. I do not want any part of the pity party. I know that I sometimes feel this way. Ok, what about you? God is not like us, thank goodness for this. Picture it, I mean wouldnt that be a mess if he was like us? Oh! Lord please help us? Deliver us from ourselves. God will listen and handle our prayer request. It doesnt matter where we are physically or mentally he is our stronghold. He will provide a dwelling place for us when our hearts feel over powered and upset. All we have to remember is that he is near us and in us. The most important thing is to trust in him completely. Stop for a few minutes and calmly and sincerely think on his faithfulness. God is everything we need him to be and more:
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trust in Him! (Psalms 34:8 NKJV).
Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah. (Psalms 61: 1 4 NKJV).
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliver; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies. (Psalms 18: 2 & 3 NKJV).
Trust in God is important for our survival. The prophecy of the Messiah shows the need for trust in God in times of suffering. The prophecy of the suffering of the Messiah is found in Isaiah 50: 7 10. The Messiah declares that he will keep his eyes on God because he knows God will help him. He also declares that God qualifies him and will help him because he committed no crime. The Messiah appeals to those who reverence God and obey him to trust in the name of the Lord and stay with God. When we trust in the Lord we are blessed in ways we cannot even imagine. Do not allow intellect to have you trying to solve things that God needs to solve and resolve. Recognize his absolute sovereignty and follow him. Following God absolutely demonstrates mustard seed faith. (Luke 17: 6). Mustard seed faith is greater than you think. The mustard seed is very tiny in size but produces a large and strong tree. It is not the size of our faith that is important. What is important is that our faith in God is sincere, genuine and strong. When we have genuine faith we are able to speak things into existence that are not in existence. (Romans 4: 17c). I am not speaking of magic or enchantment but Genuine Faith in Gods power. The faith working in us through the power of the Holy Spirit is what will move mountains or obstacles out of our path. Speak positively in faith:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3: 5 & 6 NKJV).
Faith that is strong does not focus on material items or lifes problems. The eyes of faith allow us to see great possibilities; things that can exist. We are not to get caught up on material items or stuff because they do not last forever. As Christians we are to place our faith and hope in things of God that last forever. Believing in Jesus Christ affords us everlasting life in the kingdom of God. Trusting and having faith in God is exactly why we are to walk by faith and not by sight, 2 Corinthians 5: 7:
While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4: 18 NKJV)
