Orzie L. Lewis was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida and is the mother of one son, Antoine. She was educated in the public school system of Duval County in Jacksonville, Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida.

Orzie is an educator and licensed minister. She spent 30 years teaching in the public school system of Duval County in Jacksonville, Florida. She also spent 7 years serving as the Director of Christian Education in her church. Orzie is presently serving as a minister, teacher, facilitator and writer.
