Chapter three explains the different types of scales, the circle of fifths, introduces you to syllables and provides a plan for you to memorize your scales.
The intervals that you will learn in chapter four are the most important forces in this book for developing your Super Ears. Learning them will let you hear the music you are viewing before you play it.
In chapter five you will learn the different chords using notes and syllables. Not only will you learn to identify the major chords, but minor, diminished, augmented, sixths, sevenths and ninth chords.

In the seventh chapter you learn to read the scales and intervals that you have already learned in the syllable strategy. This should greatly enhance your technical facility. Adding syllables to and then practicing the rhythmic studies should not only help your rhythmic command, but your compositional skills as well.
