Abstract:
Braddock’s Road: A 250th Anniversary Retrospective is a condensed version of the story behind British Major General Edward Braddock’s expedition against French forces at Fort Duquesne in the summer of 1755. It includes details about another man, much younger than Braddock who served as one of the General’s aides, and who would in his own time become a great leader – George Washington. The accompanying photos show actual parts of the road as they exist today, as modern highways across a multi-state area, or as nothing more than mere depressions in the woods.
