A retired veteran with nearly twenty-four years of active service (ten years overseas), the author is an avid military historian who has studied and walked over some of the most famous battlefields in history, both in the United States and overseas. He has written and published several magazine articles on other important military actions and personages. He now lives in Frederick County, Virginia, an area rich in early-American military heritage from the French and Indian War to the Civil War.
