The authors of this book are all members of Trexler Middle School in Richlands, North Carolina. They are 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in Mrs. Swanson’s Academically Gifted classes. Being members of military families, most of these students have lived in at least two or three different states, and in some cases, countries. Americans around the nation were deeply affected by the tragedies of September 11th, but knowing that we may also lose a family member because of this, makes it very painful and personal.
