Originally educated as a registered nurse, Frey completed her BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University, certification as a professional massage therapist, and an M.S., Ph.D. and a Doctor of Naturopathy at The Clayton College of Natural Health. Bridging her two passions for architectural design and naturopathic medicine, Frey founded Avalon Health as a resource for improving public school environments, naturopathically. Avalon has gained international recognition for promoting new trends in public school design and classroom environments and for implementing the country’s first state-funded naturopathic health grant in public schools. Her book serves as a document of the work.
