Born, raised and educated in the Midwest, I have spent my adult life in New Mexico and Idaho. My educational and career backgrounds are in environmental science – research, development, regulation and management for the private and public sectors.
My science background helped with critical thinking, skepticism and technical writing. My experience working for government gave me an understanding of how inefficiently the system works and how politics interferes with science.
In retirement, I have developed a strong avocation for local politics, the writing of this book and many guest editorials. I still find time for downhill skiing and some golf.
