Biography:

Ray Clark Dickson, born in Portland, Oregon, 1919, writes and recites with clarity, sensitivity and narrative power. Hundreds of his poems have been published, including 22 in the 'Beloit Poetry Journal.' He is most honored to be in 'A Fine Excess: Fifty Years of The Beloit Poetry Journal Anthology' (2000), beside the Langston Hughes' translation of Lorca's 'Gypsy Ballads.' His favorite online: 'Mindset, The Beloit College gen/gap study.' Ray was selected first Poet Laureate of San Luis Obispo, California (1999), nominated by the SLO Arts Council for State Poet Laureate (2000).
