DR. JERIS GRANT, an Augusta, Georgia native also known as, Jerisa Chateen Grant Johnson, was inspired to write based on obstacles she overcame during the quest to become the first physician in her family. Teaching others resilience by conquering adversity is a passion grounded in her faith in God. She is the founding owner of Grant Advocate and Counseling Services, an establishment that encourages the development of coping skills in people of all ages. She was a dual-degree student for Medicine and Masters in Business Administration at NYCOM/NYIT, obtained her undergraduate degree and post-baccalaureate classes from Howard University and UCSD San Diego School of Medicine, respectively and is now completing a combined residency program in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
