Biography:
Melvin Eugene Hacker is a transplanted California Boy who was born on March 30, 1925 in Ontario, California. He left high school in March 1943 for a three-year hitch in the U.S. Navy where he was assigned to a troop transport as a RADAR Operator. Returning to Civilian life in 1946, Mel married and spent the next fifty years as a telephone design engineer. In 1938, Mel developed an interest in motion picture photography and following WWII amassed a film library of 27,000 feet of movie film devoted to his family. Now in retirement with his wife, Charo, on the shores of Old Hickory Lake in Nashville, Tennessee, he devotes his available time to preserving his motion picture images on DVD discs. This project allows him to share his collection with his children, grand children, brothers and sisters as well as cousins and other family members.
