After spending more than two of the happiest years of my life as a Trappistine nun, an erroneous x-ray diagnosis providentially sent me home where my mother needed me. After getting a BS degree in Physics, I went to work as an engineer at the Sperry Corp. (Unisys) I obtained an MSEE in Computer Science by going to school evenings. I pioneered the design of digital signal processors and was the first woman at Sperry to be made an Engineering Research Section Head. I took early retirement so that I could finally respond to the call I felt to mystical contemplation.
