Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio by Hungarian immigrants, author Matilda (Millie) Balas had the first of many spiritual encounters at age three, when an unseen hand prevented her from darting into the path of an oncoming car.

During her 24-year marriage, Millie gave birth to four sons, one of whom, George, died an accidental death at age 44. Millie describes George’s death as “an overwhelming, powerful, spiritual happening and truly a looking glass into eternal life.”
