Biography:
Hester Lawson Jones, the author of Black Girls Don’t Sing Country Music, has spent over thirty years in higher education as an administrator, professor, and consultant.
Until now, Jones’ writings have been academic. Her research interest is nontraditional higher education in which she has published nationally. The author enjoys fiction. She shares a similar background to the book’s main character, Helen. She grew up in Northeast Person County, North Carolina on the border of Virginia. She graduated from high school in the local town of Roxboro, North Carolina.
