Dan Hurwitz is a professional engineer who, now that he has retired, is free to pursue his longtime avocation of writing. Prior to retirement, he was head of On-Line Data, Inc., a computer software house he founded in 1970. Hurwitz graduated in 1950 from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering During the Korean War he served a tour of duty as a junior officer in the US Navy aboard a destroyer operating in the Mediterranean. His Italian-born wife, Camilla, earned her doctorate in chemistry also from Washington University. They have three children and make their home in Dallas, Texas.
