When a debilitating illness transformed the author from a strapping young athlete into an invalid in his 20s, he was shuffled from medical doctor to medical doctor in a fruitless search for a diagnosis and cure. It was an alternative practitioner who eventually correctly identified the problem and started Gary on the road back to health. From that point on, Gary dedicated his own life to the healing arts, and enthusiastically urges people to become their own health advocates. He unwinds by spending time with his family at his rural homestead in Southern California.
