Vincent J. Vanston holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s degree in theology. He taught for thirty-six years at Scranton Preparatory School, a Jesuit high school in Pennsylvania. He is the author of the novels Jeremiah, My Servant; Somewhere in Silence; and Knight of Mourning; the play, And Still the Sea is Salt; and a book of essays, Taking Aim. He has been married to Anne Griffin Vanston for forty-nine years. They have two children, Kathleen, a lawyer; and Vincent Jay, a doctor; and four grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Julia, and Jenna.
