A poet, fine artist, and craftsperson, Nancy Marie Sessions has been writing since an early age. Although she was educated in the visual arts, poetry remains an important parallel interest and means of self-expression.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, her Navy family relocated to Norfolk and San Diego before settling in Vienna, Virginia. Family roots in Arkansas, Missouri, and rural Virginia, where ancestors and relatives figured prominently in Civil War history and the development of Bluegrass music, tie her to past times and traditions. A mother with one son, the author currently lives among close friends and family in Fairfax, Virginia.
