The Bucktail Brothers: Brave Men's Blood
Henry and Willie Cole were lucky to have survived the bloody Battle of Gettysburg. Little did the brothers know that the worst was yet to come! Sent to defend the Orange and Alexandria Railroad, the regiment’s depleted ranks were filled with draftees of questionable bravery. This left a small core of battle-tested veterans to lead the 149th in the gruesome Wilderness and Spotsylvania Court House Campaigns. Equally brutal were the Battle of Cold Harbor and the Siege of Petersburg. Add a tour of duty guarding the infamous Elmira Prison Camp, and the Bucktails visited every circle of Civil War hell.

Terror Time 2nd Edition
Terror Time is William P. Robertson’s third collection of horror stories and his hardest hitting yet. The anthology kicks off with a second visit from femme fatale, Lauren Watson, who wreaks havoc on another branch of her family. The author also immerses his Bucktail characters, Bucky Culp and Jimmy Jewett, in two scary, postbellum adventures. Robertson’s first dark fantasy story appears here, too. It relates the trials of a Viking who’s smitten with a witch. An encounter with a jailhouse ghost and two winter travel tales squeeze the chills from modern settings. Disturbing episodes from Bill’s childhood creep in twice.

Season of Doom
Fans of both William P. Robertson’s horror writing and historical fiction will find something to treasure in the author’s new collection of character-driven stories. The book begins with five tales of twisted love that culminate in femme fatale, Lauren Watson’s, grisly demise. The eruption of Mount Vesuvius creates the backdrop for another narrative about a sadistic Roman general. Viking, Dane Wulfdin, also returns to brave new dangers among the Skraelings. Other yarns detail a scary encounter with Bigfoot and the grimmer aspects of a Mayan game. Robertson’s visit to the haunted Hinsdale House smacks of Nathaniel Hawthorne.

The 190th Bucktails: Catchin' Bobby Lee
When the original Bucktails mustered out of service on May 31, 1864, many joined the 190th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. When asked why he reenlisted, Boone Crossmire said, “To see the thing through, I reckon. Once you’ve wounded a big buck, ya gotta follow the blood trail ’til ya finds ’im.” Sergeant Hosea Curtis needed no such motivation. He just loved to fight. And fight they did as skirmishers at Petersburg, Weldon Railroad, and Five Forks. With brutal forced marches, they finally catch their quarry at Appomattox Court House. It’s the Bucktails’ bravery that wins the day on April 9, 1865.
