The author is a man of diverse interests and talents. As a youth in the Philippines he fell in love with Spanish literature and also became fluent in three Philippine languages, yet he eventually ended up as a Professional Engineer in the United States! He traveled the world as a Civil Engineer, but was always curious about his unique Filipino/Spanish heritage. The quest for answers took him to Spain on numerous occasions beginning in 1977. Now retirement has given him the opportunity to fulfill a dream–telling his forebear’s story set in a chapter of his homeland’s history.
