Biography:
The author was born in 1917 in Seattle, Washington. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1940 and a Master of Science in 1941 from the University of Washington in Seattle. He then earned a Ph.D. in physiology (neurophysiology) from the University of Chicago in 1946 followed by an M.D. in 1948. After specialty training in internal medicine and clinical neurophysiology, he devoted his career to clinical practice and research in clinical neurophysiology and also to a lifelong study of religion.
