James V. Smith, Jr. is a professional speaker and workshop presenter, teaching his Creative Corporate Writer system in the workplace.

His books include You Can Write a Novel, The Fiction Writer’s Brainstormer, and the Force Recon novels from Berkley Publishing. He was a reporter for The Dallas Morning News and The Indianapolis News as well as a four-time national award-winning columnist. He is a former Army officer, helicopter pilot, and director of DoD’s Journalism Department.
