Abstract:
A civil war rages in the Middle East country of Syria. A regime that kills its people without hesitation is fighting against the Free Syria Army, a group of rebels looking to overthrow the corrupt dictator who has enlisted the help of the Russians to maintain control. ISIS counts Syria as its home base and is in the midst of the fight. The U.S. needs intelligence from the area and employs loyal assets to report reliable information concerning the ongoing war. When a garage mechanic is offered sanctuary in the United States for him and his family if he serves as a conduit for two years, he is excited by the prospect. When events turn deadly, Jamal Haydar is left hanging out to dry. The promise is withdrawn and the man’s dream of freedom evaporates. How much is a life worth when your countrymen are trying to kill you?
