Verbal and emotional abuse, mental illness or demonic oppression? How much evil can one person unleash on another and why? How one woman successfully survived.

Abstract:
In the 1970’s a Midwestern Christian wife journeys into despair and learned helplessness, betrayed by the very person who was supposed to love and protect her. Lucy Spurlock shares a brutally honest yet compassionate look at domestic psychological abuse. Her story is for women of all ages. How much can one person take? What will a mother endure to protect her children, or a daughter to protect her parents? How did Lucy manage to survive?

“One should never suffer abuse at the hands of someone who claims to love them. It is a most devastating betrayal.” (Quote from Lucy’s Story)

A deeply moving and personal account of the spiritual, emotional, and physical pain a faithful Christian woman experienced to hold her marriage together. The book demonstrates how her faith in God and His providence allowed her to work with her husband through his mental illness. They were able to achieve a strong Christian life and marriage through God's help and with counseling.
