Abstract:
Branches of the Dabson/Dapson Family traces the author’s ancestors back to the village of Smarden, Kent, England in the 16th century. For decades the family stayed in Smarden and the surrounding communities, venturing only as far as towns in Sussex. That changed in the 1850s as some of the grandchildren of Jeremiah Dabson and Mary Judge moved to the United States. This book attempts to document many of the Dabsons who stayed in England as well as those who emigrated to New York State and used the surname Dapson and those who settled in Wisconsin and kept the Dabson name.
