Abstract:
With diverse roots and experiences, seventeen poets from two Williamsburg, Virginia, writing groups have produced a rich, imaginative tapestry. The poets hail from every region of the United States, from big cities like New York, to small towns in rural Virginia and elsewhere. Two were born in Europe; three have worked overseas; three served in the U.S. military. Poems include descriptions of life in Brooklyn, New England, the American West, Mexico, South America, England, Berlin, and Guam. They range from traditional form poetry to more free-wheeling modern verse, from lyrical to narrative to light verse.
