Abstract:
There are plenty of books on the science of medicine. This book is about the “art” of medicine. Ongoing education, creative thinking, research, and experience, all came together with the idea of a different model for managing congestive heart failure. The new model did not call for new medicines or advancement in the science. Instead, it was a model that called for working with patients in partnership. In a series of short illustrative stories, Partnering with Patients shows how healthcare professionals can improve outcomes by coming alongside patients, families and other professionals in a team setting.
