Abstract:
To other party guest, Jennifer O’Brian appeared older than her seventeen years. When she accepted a tasty rum-laced fruit drink from birthday boy, Dalton Casteel, neither anticipated conceiving a son. Dalton learned three years later; after Kathleen had lost her scholarship to a prestigious school of the arts, after her unwed pregnancy caused her to be shunned by the other “nice girls” in Winslow, North Carolina, after her life-long dream of becoming a professional singer was put aside in lieu of supporting and parenting their son without his father.
