Abstract:
Jim Hartley has written his autobiography in IT ALL BEGAN ON HALLOWEEN. Many events are told from a narrative point of view, describing in the third person what took place in his life. Some sections are called "Contemporary Comments," written in the first person, including thoughts and feelings that he had at that time. A third perspective is labeled "Reflections," with feelings and thoughts he had at the time of writing the book as he looked back on earlier events. There are a few comments from a fourth perspective, quotations from his mother's diaries.
