Abstract:
Two worlds intertwined, playing with my mind. Bike stunts with my little brother; family meals gobbled down; sitting in the church pew, wrestling with confusion. Spankings with a belt pulled out to injure and abuse. Nail-studded 2x4s striking tender skin, a punishment undeserved. Incensed voices, proclaiming self– justification, victory achieved through silence. Tied to a grimy pole in a basement, waiting...waiting for my transgressor to release me. Sound asleep in the safety of my bed, wondering at the form descending down on my small body. Words declaring love drowning out the abuse. Was this a house of love or terror?
