Abstract:
At one point in history, Ruben Houston Burrow was the most wanted criminal in America. When Rube’s father learned Rube had become a train robber, he said, “I don’t approve of that but I’ll stand by you because blood is thicker than water.” His family was unique and did an incredible job back in the 1800’s in protecting him in creative ways. His mother was the local untrained doctor who had a following. The author owns the land where Rube used to hide out in a large cave when he came back to Alabama from Texas. A true story told in creative non-fiction style.
