Abstract:
A grateful testimony to the kindness and generosity of many individuals who offered, and gave help to a talented black musician in his struggle to become a successful professional. The author profiles those who were most significant in his life – from the racist doctor who saved him from pneumonia at age six months, to the director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir who invited him to share his podium. Those angels, white, black, anonymous, famous, and not so famous, contributed to his development, enabled his success, and are acknowledged herein.
