Abstract:
The Bipolar Express: One Christian Woman’s Life Journey in the Company of a Child with Bipolar Disorder and Asperger’s Syndrome tells of a mother’s on-going struggles and victories in the presence of her daughter’s co-morbid disabilities. It is not a clinical account of diagnosis, behavioral affect, medication and therapy. The journey is a difficult ride that takes readers through sixteen years of hoarding, shoplifting, manic episodes and suicide attempts. No experiential equivalent or professional pre-requisite prepares a person to ride the Bipolar Express. This book gives families a voice when no energy remains to tell their own story.
