Abstract:
This is a journey—a journey in time spanning three centuries, beginning with the seventeenth when the Indians roamed the “falls” living on wild meat, nuts, berries, and certain roots. Five chapters of the book are spent on the beauty of the “falls” and the people who availed themselves of its amenities, including the Indians. This included the Caney Falls school teachers who took their students into the “falls” for nature hikes—great opportunity to get better acquainted with the flora, fauna, rocks, caves, etc., to observe nature parading its beauty and quality in various forms.
