Abstract:
The Catholic veneration of Mary is probably second only to the adoration of God and is based on the Bible and tradition including some non-canonical “Gospels” (apocrypha). Of the four Marian Dogmas (Immaculate Conception, Perpetual Virginity, Mother of God and Assumption) only one is supported by the Bible; and that only partially.

In this book, the biography of Mary is constructed using verbatim scripture, stories from Apocrypha (not totally reliable) and other Catholic traditions. This construction is speculative but does not conflict with the most commonly accepted traditions. Catholic observance of Marian tradition is footnoted in parallel with the biography.
