Abstract:
This is the first in human history publication of the higher taxa of Orchids (prior to the publication of this book, all Orchid Genera were placed under Family Orchidaceae). Orchid higher taxa are DOMAIN Plantae Plant, KINGDOM Spermatophyta Seed Plant, SUBKINGDOM Anthophyta Flowering Seed Plant, PHYLUM Orchidophyta Orchid Flowering Seed Plant, CLASSES include Orchidopsida-afroeurasia, Afroeurasian Orchid, Orchidopsida-afra African Orchid, Orchidopsida-malagasi Madagascar Orchid, Orchidopsida-europa European Orchid, Orchidopsida-nordasia North Asia Orchid, Orchidopsida-australasia South & East Asian Orchid, Orchidopsida-nordameria North American Orchid, Orchidopsida-tropicameria Tropical American Orchid, and Orchidopsida-sudoameria Southern South American Orchid. A new plant numbering system defines a Standard Orchid Registration Number.
