Combat and Capture is the story of Flight Lieutenant Claude W. McCrocklin at the height of World War II. Shot down over enemy held territory, he survived combat, capture, and Russian liberation to return home in 1945.

Abstract:
Upon the outbreak of World War II, Claude McCrocklin joined the Army Air Corp and was trained as a bombardier serving with the 15th Army Air Force in Italy. After a number of missions, his plane was shot down on April 2, 1944. For the rest of the war, he would be a Prisoner of War.

Liberated by the Russian Army in the spring of 1945, he served as a liaison officer with them for a time before being transported to a prisoner of war assembly center in France, and then finally home to the United States in September of 1945.
