Abstract:
In & Out of Line is Adam Dustus’ reconciliation of poetic form with artistic freedom. This poetry collection honors and departs from established literary forms. While presenting his personal gratitude to poetic traditions (sonnets and villanelles), Dustus creates within these complex established schemes a symbolic farewell. In breaking with tradition, other poems that maintain melodious internal rhythms and uplifting free form emerge with confidence. A unique poetic voice is captured for poetry lovers.
