Abstract:
St. Croix Chronicles contains the two sequels to Beyond the Fury. In “Beyond Expectations,” Elaina’s independent spirit and curious nature come in conflict with a man burdened with grief and broken dreams. Together, they struggle to forge a friendship based on trust and understanding. In “Beyond the Distant Horizon,” Madeline returns home with her two young children to live with her aunt and uncle as World War I rages overseas. Madeline’s faith is tested as she longs for her husband’s safe return and the end to the debilitating influenza epidemic.
