Abstract:
Joseph Carlisle knew he was dead after having swallowed enough sea water to float a rowboat. What puzzled him was why he still was able to think about what was happening to him now as the shark continued dragging him down, deeper and deeper into the depths.

It occurred to him that he would end up as the main entrée at a shark family’s feast.

Are dead persons capable of thinking? . . . dreaming? . . . having nightmares?

Somehow . . . Joe soon found himself in the presence of Satan . . . who wanted Joe to swear fealty to him . . . or else!

Joe denied the devil his wish . . . after all . . . what worse harm could happen to him? . . . he was already dead . . . wasn’t he?
